Principal’s message

Welcome to Jack Miner Public School!

Jack Miner Public School is a JK-grade 8 school in the north-west part of Whitby. Our student population is comprised of approximately 365 Main Stream students as well as approximately 80 students who are enrolled in our Gifted Program. We are also very fortunate to be home to a Practical Learning Program class and a Structured Learning Class.

At Jack Miner we strongly believe in the DDSB’s core priorities of Success, Equity, Well-Being, Engagement, Leadership, and Innovation and we strive to provide our students and our community with opportunities and resources to ignite a passion for learning.

Our staff and parent community support and believe in a balance of academic success and co-curricular activities. These activities include many different athletic teams, various arts programs, technology programs such as a 3D printing club a Robotics club and many others. These opportunities encourage and develop the strengths and interests of our students. We believe that student leadership development is an important part of character development.

I look forward to working in partnership with our Jack Miner families in the best interest of all of our students.
